One of our more prestigious venues! We were invited by Lee Walsingham, the CEO of Watford and West Herts Chamber of Commerce to entertain in the Hall, as delegates gathered to attend the Chamber’s Christmas lunch.

Lee had seen HAMC perform before and has links to the choir, as a client of one of our members. We emerged into the Hall from the golfers’ changing rooms to an attentive and appreciative audience who enjoyed 45 minutes of singing, starting with Stout Hearted Men and ending with An American Trilogy.

The main problem for the accompanist, Avis Gerry, playing a piano especially tuned for the occasion, was that she was positioned under the Christmas tree, separated from the Ensemble, and had to shoo people away, who stood blocking her view of the Music Director, David Heasman.

Although the Chamber of Commerce initially told us that they had no money, they secured some sponsorship, which we donated to a local charity of their choice: the Watford Sheltered Workshop.

See Gallery for more photographs of the Ensemble enjoying this beautiful venue.
