On the 29th June 2013, Marianne, daughter of Den Argent, a HAMC chorister, married Steve at St Mary’s Church, Beenham in Berkshire.

The Church is some distance from Harrow but we were unable to hire a coach to transport the choristers as Church lane is too narrow. Even cars were a tight fit. We put together a team of 8 volunteer drivers to ferry the choristers to this special day.

Marianne, had been very specific about the pieces she wanted the choir to sing – You Raise Me Up, Let It Be Me and From This Moment. We were able to accommodate her wishes, although the latter two required the choir to learn and perform them at least a couple of times before the big day, under the watchful and approving eyes of the bride-to-be and her mother.

The day was sunny and warm.  The bride was radiant and the groom didn’t look too bad either! The ceremony was beautiful. The choir performed from the back of the church, as there was nowhere else to stand. It was so tight that the choir had to leave the church before the happy couple, much to the surprise of the photographer waiting for her outside.

The bride’s father was tearful, when he thanked the choir and said how well we had performed on his daughter’s special day. We all felt privileged to have had the chance to share in the start of a new journey for these two young people.
